018 – Pff! Men

As if there is any other kind.

I am not really comfortable with my ability to write from the female perspective so I got my wife to help me with today’s strip. She came up with a series of really hilarious punch lines that were FAR dirtier and more unsettling than what we finally ended up with… She scares me sometimes…

It’s funny though, because honestly my own sense of humor is really rather bizarre and raunchy as well. I love comics that don’t hold anything back. In many ways I am jealous of that freedom, yet I never really feel the desire to put much of that in my own work. For me, the draw of an “all ages” story that can be enjoyed by everyone is just as great.

Hilarious doesn’t have to = raunchy. Bizarre is okay. Raunchy is cheap humor and to me shows a lack of depth and creativity. Humor is strong/creative writing + great site gags. Just look at Calvin and Hobbes. Matt you have a gift. If you bring a strong storyline and amazing artwork the world will beat a path to your site! Keep up the great work!

Sexy punches to the face are the only kind I desire!

Hey, you can’t blame a guy when he’s faced with a cute puffin gal.

  4. Mimere says:

Oh, brother. As an authority on one “old block,” I’d say you’re definitely a chip off of … well, you get it.

  5. Russ says:

Gotta get em riled up somehow. Plus, punching is still actual physical contact and I take what I can get!!!

  6. Mimere says:

    Oh, dear. “Chip” number two!

  7. Matt says:

I think I subconsciously patterned the seagull after you Russ.

  8. Scott says:

The beak of the puffin is only colorful during breeding season. What were these ladies expecting?

  9. The old guy says:

Train a child up in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Prov. 22:6

  10. Mimere says:

Ah, yes, the “old block” weighs in.
