135 – The Slightest Touch

I don’t get a chance often to play with a different illustration style, but that is exactly what I wanted to do here. The difficult part was trying to render the close-up of the hummingbird in a slightly more detailed and refined way without feeling like I went too far with it and it suddenly just doesn’t feel like it belongs with all of the other strips I’ve done. Hopefully you guys like the results. I sure had a fun time with this one.

This comic is SOLD!

Hahaha. The bird looks great too.

Ha! I can almost hear the staccato violin music in panels 4-6. Nicely done!

Love it. Honestly, I was expecting a Family-Guy-esque explosion or something, but I think the actual punch on this is funnier. Great job.

Though I do have to wonder…where did he find nails on the beach? :)

Da dum, Da dum. That was great! The scene was built perfectly. The bird closeup was perfect!

Absolutely perfect gag. This type of outcome is so much better than the huge explosion or the collapse of everything.

Beautiful job on the humming bird.
