The annual 24 hour Comics Day marathon will be held this Saturday, October 3rd. For those who may not know, the 24 Hour Comics Day event was started by Scott McCloud as a day for comic artists of all varieties to push themselves to their physical and creative limits in a non-stop 24 hour create-a-thon.

My personal goals for this year is to get two weeks ahead on my strips and to re-work 5 older strips in the new style. That’s 9 strips total baby! I will be documenting the events via Twitter and Audioboo so feel free to follow along.

To help meet my goals, I will be heavily medicated on Mtn Dew while following Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub live on UStream as they too work toward their own personal goals.

And if you are a fellow cartoonist, (can I even call myself that?) please post a reply with your own plans for that day and I will be sure to cheer you on as well!

  1. Yes, you can call yourself that! I’d like to do this someday, but it’s not going to be this year. Good luck!

I’m considering trying something this year, but I never feel creative enough to pull one off.

  3. Matt says:

Well, apparently someone did not tell My wife’s parents about 24 hour comics day because they are coming up to see us on Saturday! So my day will be punctuated with frequent interruptions. Oh well, you gotta love your family!

  4. Steve McNair says:

Good luck my man! If anyone can do it you can. I’ve seen you do stuff like this before!

  5. Will Terrell says:

Good luck! I hope you survive! I’ve done a couple of these and I am such a wuss when it comes to (not) sleeping!

  6. Will Terrell says:

HAHAHA! Your last AudioBoo was hilarious!

  7. Matt says:

Which one was that? the one with my wife? Ha! I don’t know what to do with her.
