The guys over at Digital Strips Podcast (one of the many podcasts I subscribe to) were kind enough to review Robot Beach on their latest show. They had many flattering things to say as well as a few fair bits of criticism. Do you agree with their final verdict? Leave some feedback and let me know!

Yeah I happen to agree with them on the whole, tho they tend to be overly critical of anything, so that’s like playing with a handicap (golfing expression, not trying to be un-PC!). This strip IS well-produced, well thought-out and funny to read.
I did like their points about the jellyfish, and how you couldn’t transplant that humor to the main cast, cos in a way that’s what makes those guys funny. The fish also make appearances as extras.
I think their biggest issue was injecting meta-story into a gag-a-day format. I don’t see a problem with this, personally, but I can sorta see where they’re coming from. It’s a blurring of two formats, but we don’t know the rules to write for both, and when the strengths of one can be used to cover over the weaknesses of the other.
Personally – I enjoy the strip, even the larger story. Keep writing, Matt! Keep making us laugh.
